It is often the hardest task of all for the client producing a brief for a project, before perhaps knowing all of the possibilities and opportunities at such an early stage. In these instances we have found that a 3D or ‘Sensory’ design approach can become a more cost effective and fluid form of design communication with our clients, even producing 3D designs before any 2D designs are produced. 2D designs and drawings can become a generic output of an initial 3D environment. Within this environment a more detailed and defined brief for the overall design can be captured and handed to the detailed design stages, with no other form as effective in enabling the viewer to perceive spaces, shapes, surfaces and textures. Our innovative approach to residential house design including extensions and refurbishments, produces an outline 3D model first for example, in order for our clients to fully understand what they want and why they want it, before committing heavily towards any investment or indeed any long-winded planning applications.
